• Dim or flickering lights: Your headlights and dash lights are way dimmer than normal, or they flicker when the engine’s RPMs go up and down.
• Engine sputters or backfires: A weak stator gives you an inconsistent spark, which messes up engine timing and combustion. 
• Fuses keep blowing: If a stator coil shorts out, it creates a direct path to ground. That’ll blow the main fuse over and over.
